Nobody wants to buy a new DVD and have it become scratched and unusable.  Now they can use software available on the internet to backup their DVD collection.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are other things you can do with DVD copying software. I have seen ideas from people who say they go to their local movie rental store and rent a DVD for a few dollars. They go home and watch the movie but then go ahead and copy it. So now they have a DVD to add to their collection for only a fraction of the price.  I am not condoning this action and am not responsible for what you do with that information.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The software I ended up choosing to purchase was cheaper compared to the more expensive brands out today.
