The main reasons people want to burn or copy DVDs is to backup their DVD collection. Nobody wants to buy a new DVD and have it become scratched and unusable. Now they can use software available on the internet to backup their DVD collection.
There are other things you can do with DVD copying software. I have seen ideas from people who say they go to their local movie rental store and rent a DVD for a few dollars. They go home and watch the movie but then go ahead and copy it. So now they have a DVD to add to their collection for only a fraction of the price. I am not condoning this action and am not responsible for what you do with that information.
The software I ended up choosing to purchase was cheaper compared to the more expensive brands out today. I didn't want to get a huge bundle that did more than I wanted which was just to burn DVDs of what I want.
